Kiss Alive 35 Concert Tour

Kiss is scheduled to travel to more than 40 American cities from September all the way to December. Like before, the all-male rock group will appear before the audience in their patented makeup and matching costumes.

The songs theyâ€™ll sing in this upcoming concert will be predominantly composed of their greatest hits. They are also set to perform some of the cuts that are included in their new album, â€œSonic Boomâ€. The show will last for two hours and will make the audience nostalgic of this prominent 1970â€™s band.

And just like it were in the 1970â€™s, viewers can expect bigger and better pyrotechnics and pyro-arsenals to come into fore. The new stage is set and a better battle gear is in place. It will be a fiery, ferocious, and death-defying night of songs and entertainment, the Kiss style. The Alive 35 concert is a product of Kissâ€™ 35 years in the rock entertainment world.

Kiss is an all-American metal rock band which was formed in New York in the 1970â€™s. Kiss was very popular during that decade because they were the only group who performs with unconventional concert acts which include intense face make-ups and pyrotechnics. Also parts of their live shows are fire breathing and blood spitting.

Gene Simmons plays the bass guitar. Paul Stanley does the rhythm guitar. Peter Criss plays the drums and Ace Frehley is on the lead guitar. All of the members of the group sings and add to the vocals.

Aside from the membersâ€™ unusual makeup, they also wear elaborate costumes to go along with it. Each member assumes the same persona in their performances. Simmons was The Demon, Staley is The Starchild, Criss plays The Catman, and Frehley is The Spaceman. Their makeup is always the same, with their faces white and their symbols painted on their faces.

It was Simmons and Stanley who founded the group. At first, they were the Wicked Lester and they were only a duo. However, this group didnâ€™t achieve much success as they hoped for. One day, they saw Crissâ€™s advertisement in Rolling Stone. Being a veteran drummer, he was invited to audition for Wicked Lester. He got in and Wicked Lester became a trio.

Soon after, the group met with Frehley when two of his friends accompanied him to the auditions. Frehleyâ€™s eccentricity impressed the group and it became his ticket to get in. During the auditions, Frehley wore sneakers that donâ€™t match – one red and the other is orange. When Frehley officially joined the group, the name Wicked Lester was changed into Kiss.
Kiss was able to create a total of 19 studio albums and 8 live albums. There were also 18 compilation albums created under their name. From these, Kiss was able to produce 24 gold albums and had sold more than 19 million copies in the United States alone. Worldwide, they were able to sell over the 80 million mark.

More good news for country rocker Keith Urban! The husband of fellow Aussie and actress Nicole Kidman (the couple recently welcomed their first child, Sunday Rose, into the world) will hit the road in North America next spring in support of his upcoming as-yet-untitled new album, which is slated for release March 31 via Capitol Nashville. Although no dates have been confirmed, Urban is expected to kick off his tour in May 2009 and stay on the road through the summer. One single from the forthcoming record, “Sweet Thing,” has been released and recently earned Urban his first top 50 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 43. According to Nielsen SoundScan, “Sweet Thing” has also sold over 64,000 downloads in its first two weeks of release. Urban has secured some of country’s biggest stars as supporting acts for his various dates: Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Dierks Bentley, Glen Campbell, the Zac Brown Band and Lady Antebellum. Although born in New Zealand, Keith Urban moved to Australia when he was young and it was there that he picked up a guitar at just six years old. Urban began taking lessons when a woman teaching how to play the guitar offered to teach the fledgling musician in return for free advertisement in his father’s shop window. Urban was winning talent shows by the time he was eight and also became involved in a youth acting company that honed his dancing, acting and singing skills. Urban was introduced to artists like Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell, Don Williams and songwriter Jimmy Webb (“Galveston”) thanks to his father’s passion for American country music, and he expanded his tastes to include Dire Straits and the guitar playing of Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham and Mark Knopfler.

Keith Urban burst onto the country music scene during the genre’s early ’90s resurgence in Australia with his long blonde locks and rock-meets-country sound, but continued to set his sights on the country Mecca of America-Nashville. Urban’s debut album did well in Australia, but in 1997 he moved to Nashville with his Aussie band mate, drummer Peter Clarke, and formed the three-man band the Ranch. When the group’s original bassist returned home to Australia, West Virginian Jerry Flowers filled in and the Ranch soon gained notoriety for their live shows, which highlighted Urban’s guitar skills. After signing with Capitol Nashville and inking a management deal with I.R.S. Records founder and Police manager Miles Copeland, the Ranch released their eponymous debut album and received critical acclaim in 1997. When the group disbanded Urban was asked to lend guitar to several artists’ records; he played on Garth Brooks’ Double Live, the Dixie Chicks’ sophomore album, and others.

After scoring a gig as a session player on one of Matt Rollings records, Urban asked the Nashville mainstay to produce his sophomore solo album and then hit the road opening for Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Dwight Yoakam. 10 years after making waves in the Australian country music capitol of Tamworth, Urban was lighting up the Nashville scene with several successful records like Golden Road, In the Ranch and Be Here. Urban was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance for “Rollercoaster” and hits like “It’s a Love Thing” and “Your Everything” made their way onto the charts and radio airwaves. After releasing an anthology (Days Go By) and a live DVD (Livin’ Right Now) in 2005, Urban made some major moves in his personal life in 2006 when he married fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman in June and then voluntarily entered rehabilitation for alcohol abuse in October. Despite postponing promotional appearances after his stint in rehab, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing made its November release date. In July 2008 Kidman and Urban welcomed daughter Sunday Rose into the world and Urban appears to be back on track and ready for country take over. Over the years, the name Stevie Wonder has become synonymous with musical greatness. Since beginning his musical career in 1961, The 57 year old R&B, soul and pop Motown musician, has truly grown into a living legend. To date, Wonder has received twenty-five Grammy Awards, had more than thirty top ten hits and has had four of his albums make it to Rolling Stone’s list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In addition, in 1989, Wonder was awarded with the ultimate honor, as he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Stevie Wonder was born in 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan. Born prematurely, Wonder was put into an incubator as a baby and after an over-exposure to oxygen, became permanently blind. However, Wonder’s blindness did not prevent him from living life to the fullest and instead, soon became his trademark, rather than his disability.

By the tender age of thirteen, Wonder already had his first major hit: Motown Records’ Fingertips part two. The song was a breakthrough for the young musician and its success contributed to what would soon become one of the most significant, successful and influential careers in pop music history. Wonder followed Fingertips part two with a slew of other hits in the 1960’s, including Uptight (Everything’s Alright), With a Child’s Heart and Blowin’ in the Wind.

The 70’s and 80’s were the years when Wonder’s music took him from superstar to legend. This important time period saw Wonder releasing his biggest albums, which included Music of My Mind, Innervisions, Songs in the Key of Life, Hotter than July and Stevie Wonder’s Original Musiquarium. The albums and others which followed, were instant classics and provided a compendium of hit singles. These included Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours, Superstition, You are the Sunshine of My Life, I Wish, Sir Duke, Happy Birthday, Ebony and Ivory, Ribbon In the Sky, I just Called to Say I love You and Part-Time Lover.

After being recognized as one of the most important artists and icons of our time, Wonder continues to tour the world and make new music. Recently, Wonder announced plans for a brief summer tour, with dates in June and July. The tour is scheduled to see Wonder performing in New York, Wisconsin, Illinois and British Columbia.

U2 World Tour 2010-2011

Named for the circular stage setup used to allow the audience to view the performance from every angle, the U2 360Â° Tour supports the band’s 2009 album “No Line on the Horizon”.

U2 claims this is the first time a band has every toured stadiums with such a configuration, complete with interlocking LED panels, rotating bridges, and even 150 foot tall steel staging. It even features a large, record-breaking, four-legged supporting fittingly nicknamed “The Claw”. Having already been on tour for over a year, this unique stage setup has proven itself to be quite an effective crowd pleaser.

Sponsored by BlackBerry, the U2 360Â° Tour is the band’s first under their agreement with Live Nation. This move marks a breakaway from U2′s past partnership with Apple Inc., most due to the band’s desire to have greater access to music technology and human resources.

The BlackBerry sponsorship also marks the band’s first tour to ever be explicitly sponsored by a corporation. The decision to have corporate backing was mostly done to cover the production costs which have been more than any previous U2 tour. BlackBerry has developed a new BlackBerry application named “U2 Mobile App” allowing fans to listen to the band’s “No Line on the Horzion” album.

The application also allows fans to review news about the band as well as tour updates. It includes other novel features like image sharing and the ability to display and share their location within the band’s concerts.

U2 began their tour in Barcelona on June 30, 2009, and continued playing throughout Europe until the end of August. The European segment was followed up by an extended tour throughout North America that began September 12, 2009, in Chicago and ended October 28, 2009, in Vancouver. The North American tour was followed up by a second round in Europe, which began in Turin, Italy on August 6, 2010. The second European leg is scheduled to finish in Rome on October 8, 2010.

In general, the U2 360Â° Tour has received fairly positive reviews, with The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NBC News all providing praise and acceptance for the band’s performances so far.

Many critics are happy with the fact that the band chose to make music a priority over politics. Other critics identified the stage as an ideal design for improving the band’s visibility to their audiences. The Washington Post, however, claimed the stage’s visual display made U2′s performance appear more to be an “orgy of light and sound” and less of a rock concert.

The Boston Glob simply found the stage to be too big for U2′s performance, dwarfing the band and reducing their connection with the audience.

Tickets became available September 2010, with prices starting as low as .90 per seat. General admission tickets started at .90 per seat.

These prices are rather low for a band of U2′s notoriety. These low prices have been attributed to the extra capacity U2′s unique 360Â° stadium setup provides. On the opposite end of the spectrum are seats located in “The Red Zone”, an area near the stage that was designed for sale by auction, with prices estimated to top â‚¬1,000 per seat.

In an era where CD sales continues to decline on a daily basis, ticket sales prove more and more critical to the band’s bottom line.

Proceeds for tickets in “The Red Zone”, however, are planned for donation to charity. Regardless of ticket pricing, U2 has done quite well dollar-wise, having grossed over 1 million for all of its performances in 2009. As a result, the U2 360Â° Tour became the highest grossing tour of the year for 2009.

No Doubt Tickets – Hope That, No Doubt, There Will be a Tour

It’s been played off for months now that the ska punk group led by the new mother Gwen Stefani is returning to the stage with a new lease on life, though not a new soundtrack. While reports still haven’t changed much since their first few episodes via the group’s website, they are making strides to finally put some details and dates together. The initial report, via http://LiveDaily.com and others, is that the punk rock quartet will be setting out on a North American stint in May. Only one show so far has been confirmed (headlining May 3 at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, NJ), as fans and critics alike are second guessing about the eccentricities of No Doubt’s return. As dates continue to roll in, don’t be the last to see some of the classics hits performed on stage for the first time in five years, by picking up No Doubt tickets! ”The whole reason for going on this tour was to have fun, try on all our favorite songs again and to get inspired to make new music,” Gwen said in a press release. “It feels good to be all together again.” The group hasn’t been together officially for about five years as Stefani focused on her solo career and her family, while the men also focused on their families (bassist Tom also had a boy) and their own solo careers, though none were as prolific as Stefani’s (in both senses). The group’s last tour together was in 2004 with Blink 182, another punk ska group that has since fallen apart. Now No Doubt is back together and find new punk pop group Paramore opening their stage. Paramore front woman Hayley Williams posted an excited comment on the group’s webpage, saying “What a dream tour! We couldn’t be more excited to kick of 2009 by touring with a band like No Doubt.” Confirming the second opening act slot are also the Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash.

”Now that five years have passed, the excitement level for us is extremely high,” drummer Adrian Young continued on the group’s press release. While the group has remained in the spotlight via Stefani’s hot poppy singles and personal life, some old school fans are questioning whether they can return with full force like they once had. And as the group continues to make announcements solely via their webpage or press releases, and has yet to make any live appearances supporting their so-called “new” singles and revised old classics, it’s merely a ray of hope that supportive critics will see a revamped No Doubt. Young continued, saying “We are so fresh and ready! I feel like a kid again when rehearsing these songs.” Hopefully, Young and the rest of the crew are actually just as young as spunky as they were when Tragic Kingdom first appeared, the group’s diamond certified effort that turned them into superstars. There’s no doubt that this 2009 tour is going to be rockin’, even if, as Stefani said, they have to “pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies.” Only time will tell just how hot No Doubt tickets end up being, but as the rest of the world is approaching their return to the stage with a hint of hope, so are tickets from StubHub!

Bon Jovi Tour – They Just Get Better

Well we are coming into that time of the year where you start to see the major acts come out of hiding and bring their wares on the road. This year we are seeing quite of few heavy hitters on the road like Tom Petty, Toby Keith, Dave Matthews and Sugarland but while all of those acts are good, nobody puts up the numbers like a Bon Jovi Tour does.

While the band has been touring quite a bit over the last few years, seems every time you see them they just get better and better. The played out tired story about them is that they emerged from the caldrons of the 80′s hair metal days and while this is true, it is time to now identify them as one of the true legends of Rock and Roll. If you want to go strictly dollar and cents, they will rank right up there with all time touring acts and if you want to go catalog for catalog, look their music has endured and has actually gotten better with age.

Sure I know many of the old school hard rock guys will argue this and that is fine. Go down to your local bar and argue with all the bands you defend that nobody has heard of, because that is where they are at that bar. While Bon Jovi is STILL selling out stadiums nationwide.

The 2010 tour is being fueled by their latest CD, “The Circle” and this CD has a more country feel to it then the last couple and the last couple definitely had a bit of Twang value. Sorry did not mean to steal George Strait’s song!

Here they were, 17 years old and creating a CD with legendary producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, Michelle Branch). Life was once grand.

This is the place the excellent news ends. Following a disappointing run with their debut, The Fourth World, Kara’s Flowers have been granted their contract release from the label. Plan A had gone awry, leaving the quartet to consider their future. “We have been like, Okay, what do we do now?” recalls Levine. “So we ran away to college to determine it out.” Leaving Dusick and Madden behind to study at UCLA, Levine and Carmichael ran smack dab into Plan B in the dorms at the State University of New York.

Santana Unveils the “live Your Light” Tour

Since his musical debut in the 1970â€™s, Carlos Santana has successfully redefined what it means to be a great guitarist. With his explosive, exciting and innovative guitar melodies, the Mexican-born musician has grown to become a living legend and idol for generations of fans around the world. In addition, Santanaâ€™s eclectic mix of Latin rock, blues, hard rock and Jazz fusion has granted him a reputation as one of the most unique artists in rock and roll history.

Music has always been in Carlos Santanaâ€™s blood, as he was born in 1947, in Mexico, to a Mariachi violinist father. Santana took advantage of his musical roots and by as early as age five, began perfecting his craft, as a member of his fatherâ€™s Mariachi orchestra. By the 1960â€™s, a young and inspired Carlos Santana formed a band in San Francisco and in 1969, the band got their big break, performing live at the infamous â€œWoodstockâ€ music festival. Santanaâ€™s performance at â€œWoodstockâ€ shot the young group and its lead guitarist to superstardum. This early success allowed Santana to release their debut album in 1969, titled Santana. The self-titled debut went two times platinum and helped to further put Santana on the mainstream musical map. In 1970, the group released their second album, Abraxas. Abraxas was an instant classic, eventually becoming five times platinum, selling over four million units and reaching number one on the music charts.

To date, Santana, as a band, have released over fifteen hit albums and garnered the attention of millions of fans around the world. Carlos Santana has also achieved success as a solo artist. He has released a total of over thirty albums (both solo and group work), was named the fifteenth greatest artist in Rock and Roll by Rolling Stone Magazine and in 1998, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

After releasing a greatest hits album in 2007, this year marks the return of Carlos Santana to the live stage in a big way. The guitaristâ€™s massive â€œLive your Lightâ€ concert tour is set to hit various venues around the world, July through October. â€œLive your Lightâ€ will see Santana performing his numerous classic hits and fan favorites, in front of stadiums packed with diehard fans. The concert will make stops in Europe, Canada and the United States over its five month touring period.
