Presentation to Rock Guitar Lessons

Presentation to Rock Guitar Lessons

Before you begin with the rock guitar lessons, you need to understand that this will not make you a lead guitar star overnight. Rock guitar lessons will only teach you the basics and advanced techniques. You still need to understand and practice enough to be able to master the art of performing rock guitar. The first phase in rock guitar courses will start with theory which will help you to understand the basic parts of the rock/electric guitar, standard notations, guitar symbols, and basic chord theory. You will also learn to play different scales and chords. You will discover to utilize your views and sentiments to perform the guitar so that in the later stages when you are ready to play, you and your guitar will become one!

The next phase of rock guitar lessons will focus on soloing. You may have been overcome by those amazing guitar solos that you have watched at live concerts or on Channel V or VH1. So here’s your chance to learn soloing, which will include beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons. In the beginner lessons you will understand more about hammer-ons, bends, open position scales, and vibratos. The intermediate lesson is where you will discover to do your own solo and perform it as well. You will also get to learn how to use natural harmonics and play major scale modes. When you reach the advanced soloing lessons, you will be confident enough to produce your solos and this will persuade you to play them more often. The advanced rock guitar courses will help you to perform different techniques especially with speed.

Speed is an important part of performing the rock guitar as well as soloing and you will really have to rehearse a lot to be able to move your hand freely across the guitar chords at high speed. Once you have mastered the scales, the chords and how to fly your hand over the guitar, you are ready to rock!

Rock guitar is not easy to understand but then it is not impossible because we will handhold you through each and every step of our rock guitar lessons. We see a potential rock guitar player in each of our students and learn the need to bring that rock star to the front and our rock guitar lessons have been developed to bring out your true talent.

Rock Guitar Lessons – Playing Rock!

Rock is one of the most well-liked genres of music that came into existence in the early 1960’s and the one tool that represents rock perfectly is the guitar. Rock music is a genre that has evolved from several genres like rock and roll of the 1940’s and 50’s to country, blues, jazz, and even classical guitar. The acoustic guitar has been there for long but the backbone of Rock is actually the electric guitar that has become the ideal device for playing out torment and disappointment that is associated with rock music.

Some of the greatest rock bands of rock music include Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Animals, The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Jethro Tull, and of course the legend called Bob Dylan. Have you been wondering how to play like David Gilmour, John Petrucci, Slash, Van Halen, Steve Morse, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Ritchie Sambora and many others? If you really, really want into performing rock then the first step is taking rock guitar lessons.

Hard Rock Park: South Carolina’s Rockin’ New Theme Park

Hard Rock Park is America’s newest theme park and the latest attraction to hit Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For an area that is defined by its tourism industry, the 0 million project is the single largest tourism investment in the state’s history and will presumably target some of the customers who would have frequented the Myrtle Beach Pavilion up until its closure at the end of last year.

Beginning with an Eric Clapton guitar, Hard Rock owns the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia displayed at its locations around the globe.

The park’s theme is not movies, fairy tales, animals or water shows but reflects the company’s commitment to rock’s culture, lifestyle, legends and irreverence. This rocking celebration of the history of rock and roll is set to help Myrtle Beach enter into a new level.

Located off Hwy 501 just over the waterway, the groundbreaking 55-acre park is a totally immersive, full-day attraction that features something for rockers of all ages, including roller coasters, live shows and entertainment as well as children’s play areas, restaurants, retail stores and a multi-purpose live music amphitheater. Six custom-designed sections bring to life the genres from Rock ‘n’ Roll, showcasing the Beatles and artists from the British Invasion to artists like Led Zeppelin and the Eagles. All of the park’s shops, eateries and attractions are blanketed in an ultra-modern sound system specifically developed for the project.

A giant Gibson guitar sets the tone to the rock & roll inspired Hard Rock Park after guests enter the All Access Entry Plaza and explore eateries like I Want Candy sweets shop and the Amp’d coffee bar. At the Gibson Vegas High Roller Plaza, guests can grab some souvenirs at All Access Merchandise or catch a bite and see a show at The Whammy Bar and Peavey Lounge. The entry plaza also includes the Origins Theater where guests can watch a 12-minute movie about the history of the Hard Rock Cafe.

The Cool Country area pays tribute to southern rock influences and features attractions like the “Just A Swingin’ ” swings, “Muddin’ Moster Race” and the park’s longest roller coaster, the “Eagles Life in the Fast Lane”. This runaway mine coaster includes two lift hills, head-snapping turns and a very familiar Eagles tune blasting in your ears. Guests can get their fill of Southern food at the Rockabilly BBQ and follow it up with a rowdy country/rock show at The Icehouse Theater.

In the Born in the USA area, kids will get a kick out of the pint-sized rides at “Banana Splitsville” as well as have big time at the “Kids Rock! State Park playground. This giant romping area features forts, boulders and climbing bridges along with the “Slippery When Wet” treetop ride. Also included here are the “Shake, Rattle N’ Rollercoaster” family coaster, the Gibson Guitar Gallery and the Live Amphitheater.

The British invasion area features the “Maximum RPM!” test track ride guests wait line in the world’s first Karaoke Queue Line to test their skills as a British rock star. Dominating the brick and steel manufacturing plant-style building is a first-of-its-kind Ferris wheel structure that lifts riders up into place high above the plant. Other attractions include the “Punk Pit” bounce house at Piccadilly Circus.

Hard Rock Park’s Lost in the 70′s area is a blast from the past where guests can explore attractions like the Pinball Wizard” arcade, the “Roadies Stunt Show” and the “Nights in White Satin: The Trip” dark ride. Riders exit the dark ride into the Kings Road Boutique where retro memorabilia abounds. Kids will enjoy launching foam balls at the “Garage Jam” multi-level playground.

The theme park’s flagship roller coaster, “Led Zeppelin: The Ride”, is located in the tropical Rock & Roll Heaven area. The signature coaster features a three-quarter mile track that rises to more than 155 feet at its highest point and thrills riders with a six and a half minute experience, partially over water, reaching speeds of 65 mph and boasting six breathtaking inversions, the largest of which is a 120-foot loop. Kids can cool off at the “Reggae River Falls” sprayground or the “Colossal Guitar Fountain” while kids of all ages can catch a cool show at the Malibu Beach Party.

Hard Rock Park plans to be open 10 months a year and hopes to attract 30,000 visitors a day and about 3 million a year. Myrtle Beach has an abundance of area hotels along with an international airport, which makes reaching Hard Rock Park a quick trip in a rental car. With attention to detail, rides and attractions for all ages and a friendly and welcoming staff, you will want to visit Hard Rock Park on your next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Origins of Rock and Punk Bands Names and Logos

Origins of Rock and Punk Bands Names and Logos

Ramones. It seems that they were inspired by Paul McCartney, who used Ramone as a surname; then all the members of the band adopted this surname despite not being related. The logo was designed by Arturo Vega, sometime in the 70s; the concept was based on the Seal of the President of United States of America. The names of the band members replace the original legend around the eagle which holds an apple tree branch and a baseball bat instead of the olive tree branch and the arrows. Vega’s inspiration came after seen them performing in Washington DC.

The Who. While brainstorming for a band name, someone proposed ‘the who’ because apparently that was the most common question every time someone came up with a name.In 1964, Brian Pike sketched a logo which embraced the zeitgeist of the time: ‘Unity’ and an ‘Uplifting edge’, the two ‘h’s linked together recreate the first feeling, while the arrow does so for the second.

AC/DC. The name was taken literarily from a sewing machine, as something related to power -Alternative Current/Direct Current; others claim that it means ‘Anti-Christ Devil’s Children’.As a close friend of the band, Gerard Huerta came up with a recycled version of his own Blue Oyster Clut’s logo lettering, adding up the lightning strike.

Led Zeppelin. It was Keith Moon who somehow came up with the name; while talking about the new project, he said it should go over like a lead balloon. The Angel logo was inspired on William Rimmer’s ‘Evening of the fall of the Day’, which is incarnation of Apollo, the Greek god of the music. This figure was originally intended to characterize their record label ‘Swan Song’ but ended up being a distinctive band logo.

Iron Maiden. The Iron Maiden was a torture device, similar to a cabinet, where the victim remained standing while being interrogated and stabbed; the most famous one looked alike to Mary, the mother of Jesus. The stylish font style used in the band-name logo reminds the endings of a V-shaped guitar, which was another characteristic element of the band. The band also used to include a mascot in their tours and albums covers called ‘Eddie’.

Guns N Roses. The name is a direct allusion to Traccii and Axl’s surnames Guns and Rose. And so is the logo, a beautifully achieved arrangement of guns and roses.

The Rolling Stones. It is accepted that the band was named after a song by Muddy Waters. The pop art pair of lips and tongue is by far the most recognized band logo ever. Originally drafted by John Pasche in 1971 and included hidden away in the cover for ‘Sticky Fingers’, it sooner became the icon of the band.

The Sex Pistols. The name was introduced by McLaren who used to own a punk clothing shop called ‘sex’.Jamie Reid’s anti-esthetical collage made of pieces of newspapers forming the band’s name went accordingly with the band’s ideology, anarchy.

About The Play

Classic Rock and Kiss

Classic Rock and Kiss

For those around in the 70s, when rock and roll was really taking flight, it is most likely you remember the band KISS. Formed in 1972, this band is most memorable for its members whose who wore flamboyant outfits and painted their faces. The anonymity of the group intrigued followers along with their elaborate stage performances that included breathing fire, spitting blood, guitars that smoked and more. While these tactics may seem over-the-top today, it earned KISS over 24 gold albums and sales that exceeded 80 million.

The idea of face makeup stemmed from the band’s desire to mimic comic book figures. There was the Demon, Gene Simmons; Starchild, Paul Stanley, Spaceman, Ace Frehley, and Catman, Peter Criss. Each person picked a character that best represented their personality. It wasn’t until 1983 that the band members from KISS performed without makeup.

KISS beginnings came from Gene Simmons, whose real name was Chaim Witz, and Paul Stanley, also whose real name was different than his stage name (Stanley Harvey Eisen). The two started a band called Wicked Lester. After recording one album, they abandoned the group in 1972 and formed their new group. Peter Criss, drummer, joined the duo and the three focused on a harder style of rock than from the Wicked Lester days. In early 1973, lead guitarist Ace Frehley joined the group and it was formally then called KISS. The idea came from Criss, whose former band was called Lips. Frehley designed the logo, making the “SS” appear like lightening bolts. Because the letters resembled the Nazi SS, a symbol illegal to display in Germany, the group changed the albums cover and merchandise in Germany to a modified logo that appears like backwards Z’s.

In March of 1973 the band recorded a five-song demo tape. On November 1, 1973, KISS became the first act signed to Buddah Records, later renamed Casablanca Records. KISS first started touring February 1974 in Canada. Initially KISS sold only 75,000 copies of their album. In 1974 they recorded their second album, Hotter Than Hell. This album didn’t do well either. In 1975 a third album, Dressed To Kill was released with the groups trademark song “Rock and Roll All Nite.” The band continued to struggle until September of 1975 with the release of Alive!, which earned KISS a first top 40 single, a live version of “Rock and Roll All Nite.”

It wasn’t until the ballad “Beth” was released as a single did album sales rebound for KISS. The song “Beth” was a #7 hit for the band. After this, the band released two highly successful studio albums in less than a year, Rock and Roll Over and Love Gun. Between 1976 and 1978, KISS earned .7 million from record royalties and music publishing. KISS was soon named the most popular band in American in 1977.

Between sales from music and KISS merchandise, the band was bringing in millions of dollars. The group didn’t peak until 1978 when Alive II the band’s fourth platinum album, achieved its highest average.

Drummer Peter Criss did his final tour with the group in 1979. The band found replacement drummer Paul Caravellow, later named Eric Carr and gave him “Fox” makeup.

In 1983, sensing it was time for a change; KISS made the decision to abandon their trademark makeup and costumes. They officially appeared in public without makeup for the first time on a September 18, 1983 appearance on MTV, which coincided with the release of the band’s glam metal new album, Lick It Up.

Lick It Up became KISS’ first gold record in three years.  During these non-makeup years, KISS struggled with their identity and fan base. Simmons, arguably the dominating force in KISS during the ’70s, became less involved with the group in the ’80s as he pursued outside interests; most notably, a film career. After the band’s unmasking, he struggled with the loss of the Demon persona. During this time, Stanley became the driving force in KISS, as well as their most prominent member.

Though the original band members haven’t played together in a while, the band is still quite notorious for all ages of listeners and an important part of rock and roll history.

Rock and Roll and Payos. All about Jewish Singer-Songwriters

Rock and Roll and Payos. All about Jewish Singer-Songwriters

There’s a new music scene developing in Israel and spreading throughout the world. It’s got folk-rock roots and lyrics such “it’s fun to be a Jew.” It’s the new original Jewish music.

Jewish music was always around, and flourished in the 60′s with folk singers like Reb Shlomo Carlebach. The famous troubadour was a great performer and composer – but he wasn’t a songwriter. Like Carlebach, most Jewish musicians that were working until recently – only composed Verses from the Torah and did not write their own material. But in the last few years we see more and more Jewish musicians who turn into real singer-songwriters and write about their religious and daily lives as Orthodox Jews.

They say that the trend began with Adi Ran who started his musical career back in the 1990′s in Tel-Aviv’s underground bar scene. His songs were heavily critical, humorist and even anarchistic, influenced with punk music, Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin. In 1993 Ran became a baal teshuva and got closer and closer to the Breslov Hasidim that dance around the streets of Tel Aviv and spread the word of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov.

But Ran’s music only got better and better. He kept his rock influence and humorist spirit (he’s got a song titled “It’s so fun to be a Jew) and began recording albums that can only be defined as Hasidic Underground. Today, Adi Ran leads the Jewish original alternative music, and proudly carries the title “the Rocker” of Jewish music. Adi Ran’s recommended albums are: Don’t Hit the Rock (“Al Takeh Basela”) and Nothing to Worry About (“Ma Yesh Lachem Lid’og”).

“You know what year it is?” asked me once the singer-songwriter Aaron Razel. “This is 5765″ he then said, “we’re in the 60′s of the Jewish people!” Razel was born in New York and grew up in Jerusalem. After his army service, he received a Master’s degree in Music and started making music in the city of Tsfat. Razel incorporates his own jewish driven texts with modern day music that is influenced by Israeli music, reggae, jazz, Funk and Rock. Razel’s recommended albums are Redemption Time (“Zman Hageula”) and Song of Zion (“Shir Tzion”).

Matthew Paul Miller, you might recognize him as Matisyahu, has brought the word outside of the gates Israel and Jewish people. His Hasidic Jewish reggae is a worldwide phenomena and a number 1 hit amongst all cultures and religions. Matisyahu’s music has a unique mix of rap, reggae and rock and in his songs and listeners can even find words in Hebrew and Yiddish.

Of course that it takes a lot of effort to keep things kosher as a Jewish star. Matishyahu for example, does not put his glasses on while he performs so he won’t see all the dancing ladies, and he has to keep his payos, hat and long beard – even when they’re not in the height of fashion.

Jewish inspired music is relatively new. But with the success of Matisyahu, we can anticipate musical growth and more artists hitting the scene. If you are interested to discover more about new Jewish music or get yourself a CD by one of the artists above, then visit www.Eichlers.com for a full catalog of original Jewish music.
