Rolling Stones Ringtones

The Rolling Stones is a top billing rock band that has been around or decades.
There are few rock and roll bands around today that can say they were alive and contributed to the birth of rock and roll.

Ringtones have become big in the market today.  They are becoming standard on mobile phones and are here to stay.  Unlike the boring monophonic sounds of the past, the new TrueTone or RealTone ringtones are actual MP3′s that play on your phone when a call is received, a text is received or even when an email is received.

The Rolling Stones is a top billing rock band that has been around or decades.
There are few rock and roll bands around today that can say they were alive and contributed to the birth of rock and roll. The Rolling Stones are the band that started it all. There were the Beatles who revolutionized pop music and then there were the Stones who did the same for Rock and Roll. Some will debate where the lines blur, but they definitely are styles from opposite sides of the tracks. With songs like “Satisfaction” and “Jumpin Jack Flash” to “Beast of Burden” and “Gimme Shelter,” the Stones constantly let the world know who the God Fathers of Rock and roll are.

Thier songs have been used in numerous Hollywood films such as “Goodfellas,” “Blow,” and “Vanilla Sky.”This is because directors and producers recognize the genius and relevance this band brings to the big screen. Such musical support in any film is sure to take an audience on a fun ride. From their early beginnings in 1962 London, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were drown to the same sound, the blues. When they met as school mates and started playing music together they knew there was a certain magic and ease. Its that writing partnership that has help sustain them for the past five decades. Amazingly they are able to stay current and relevant, as well as somehow still showing the youngsters how it is really done. With the recent release “A Bigger Bang” it is obvious that the stones have no intentions of settling down.

With the popularity of the Rolling Stones, it makes sense that you can hear their infamous songs playing around the world when someone receives a call on their mobile phone.  The Stones top the charts in terms of most played ringtones today.  This band just keeps getting better with time.

Finding Your Love Match – Trust Your Stars

The top opening line for most conversations, decidedly steering towards prospective dinner for two usually is, “So what’s your sun sign?” Looking for the right love match can do wonders to your dating plan. One of the most interesting and easiest ways of matchmaking is matching sun signs. Love has everything to do with who we are and your partner’s sun sign can give you a fair idea of that. Besides, it is all the fun of it that makes you ask for people’s sun sign, matching their traits to yours.

And there are more than just sun signs to find a loving partner. Try Chinese astrology, numerology, love meters…they can be fun! Most online dating agencies ask you for your sun sign so as to increase your chances of making a better match! Here are some fun ways to find that loving partner.

Who Rocks Your Socks?

There are plenty of fish out there, but which ones are good for dating? Let astrology make a good match for you. Matching sun signs of the zodiac could give you a hint of things to come, whether a loving relationship is in the offing or should you look further?

Numerology has been making waves as a reliable match – maker. This match –making method is based on the theory that numbers say a lot about you. So try matching birth dates to find out if this is the sizzling match you’ve been waiting for or if you are about to make the worst mistake of your life.

A more recent phenomenon is Biorhythm compatibility. Biorhythms make predictions based on the physical, emotional and intellectual cycles in your life. Then there are the ‘Love Meters’, Enneagram matching and compatibility matches based on the element ruling your star signs.

So get into the DIY zone and stop praying to the maker of all things good. Take a look at some of the fun match-maker sites (like the very popular RSVP) on our website to get rolling.

Baby shower gifts are a tradition dating back to the early 1900′s where friends and family would throw a “shower” similar to how they would for a bridal shower – to “shower” the woman with gifts before her big day (marriage or having a baby). In the early days, the guests made most of the baby shower gifts. Umbrellas were a popular symbol of the event because the baby shower was traditionally an afternoon event and the guests would use the umbrella to stay out of the sun, All About Baby Showers.

Today, if the Mommy-to-Be intends on registering, she should do so about a month before the babyshower. This allows the host to send the registration information along with the baby shower invitations. Modern day baby showers are much different and not just for tea. Baby shower gifts range from practical to outlandish. You should check to see where the Mommy-to-Be is registered for gifts before deciding the type baby shower gift to give. Here’s some of the more popular baby shower gifts as well as some creative gifts to give the parents-to-be.

Clothing: Sleepers, receiving blanket, undershirts, diapers. socks and hats. make sure they are easy to change since too many buttons or snaps may be difficult for new parents to take on and off the baby. the Mommy-to-Be will need cute clothes to take the baby home from the hospital

Health & Grooming Products: Baby powder, lotion, baby wipes, desitin, q-tips, hydrogen peroxide (for the umbilical cord), baby safety pins, nail file, scissors, first aid kit, baby soaps and wash cloths, baby thermometer, diaper bag

Feeding: Bibs, bottles, bottle holders, baby formula, breast pump, nipples, bottle brush set, tipper cup, feeding spoon, baby burp towels, baby dishes and bathrobe

In the Bath Products: Towel with cute hood, wash cloths, baby lotion, shampoo, soap, baby brush and bath toys

In the Crib/Bassinet Items: Crib fitted sheets, comforter, bumper pads, mobile, crib trim, waterproof crib pads and blanket to swaddle the infant

For the Baby Room: Stuffed animals, cute pictures for the wall, gift certificate for a muralist to come out, dresser, changing table, cute initials of the baby on some type of ceramic item, picture frame, nursery lamp, furniture, boppy, bouncy seats and piggy bank

Toy Time: Teething toys, colorful play matt, black and white play matt, musical toys and plush / stuffed animals

Learning Time: Baby Bach Video, Baby Einstein CD’s, classical music CD’s, Disney movies, books for the parents, baby books, lamaze soft books and story books

For the Parents: Pamper the parents-to-be with a gift certificate to a spa, book store, record store, or a nice gift such as baby hand and foot imprinting plaster, Baby Bjorn or other baby carrier Coupons for babysitting

Here’s some helpful hints for planning your baby shower gifts for the Mommy-to-Be and the Daddy-to-Be:

More Expensive but Practical Gifts: Stroller, bassinet, baby dresser, baby changing table, baby car seat, baby car seat attachment, high chair, baby swing, bouncy seat, sound monitor, video monitor, potty chair, diaper genie (container), safety gate, baby scale, breast pump, rocking chair.

Unique Gifts: Grow chart, gift for siblings, gift certificate for baby pictures, U.S. Saving Bonds for the baby, silver spoon or rattle and baby proofing the house

Baby Shower Coupons: For those that want to give their time for their gift and don’t have much money, it is fun to be creative and make baby shower coupons for the parents such as ” 2- Hour Babysitting”, “Cook for the Mommy and Daddy two meals”, etc. The parents to be will really appreciate this baby shower coupon gift book, especially for first time parents who appreciate the help

Gift of Saving a Life: A thoughtful baby shower gift is a gift certificate for a private CPR class for the mommy and daddy to be and a few of their selected family and friends who may become future babysitters

Diapers, Diapers and More Diapers: A great gift that seems to always running out for the Mommy-to-Be is to have everyone bring a few packages of diapers. New mommies never have enough in the house so getting diapers is a perfect baby shower gift

Useful Laundry Basket Idea: Instead of spending the money on a gift bag that is likely to get thrown away, use laundry basket, line it with a baby blanket and put the gift inside and cover with tissue paper or another blanket. Then the basket can be used for the extra laundry that will be added or for toy storage

Floating Ducky: Take a silver mini washtub and fill it with water and float a rubber duck in each one. Tie balloons to one of the handles. It’s simple, but sweet. You can also place various baby shower related items next to the washtub, like shampoo, lotion and such

Laundry Basket Goods: Purchase a laundry basket, baby laundry detergent, you’re favorite prewash, stain remover, wipes to go, and some fabric softener and place in the basket. You can arrange all these small items with tissue paper in the laundry basket, which will serve as you’re gift basket

Baby Shower Baby Books: Have each baby shower guest bring a baby book for the new parents. Have each guest pre-write a sentiment or advice to the new parent’s on the first page of each book which is a great memento to cherish for the baby growing up and the parents

Baby Plant / Tree: Buy a small tree that can be planted outside of the parents-to-be home. Tie baby items to the branches. The parent’s to be can watch the tree and the baby grow at the same time. You can do the same thing with a small indoor plant

Fleece Baby Blanket: A fleece baby blanket is made by taking two pieces of fleece and putting them together, then cutting 3 in slits every 1 inch all the way around the blanket and tie knots to keep the pieces together. Then just roll the blanket up and tie it with a ribbon

Keepsake Box: Use a hatbox and add personal touches to the box by filling it in with onsies, clothes, pacifiers, bottles, wipes, diapers, etc. You can also include a pack of alphabet stickers so I could put the baby’s name and birth date, weight and height on the box with the stickers once he/she is born

You can view lot of printable Free Baby Shower Announcements, Baby Shower Invitations and Baby Shower Cards, add your personal message, along with your favorite fonts, ink color and then Preview your personalized baby card. This process allows you to see your baby card before you buy!

The baby shower originated in the late eighteen hundreds and got its name from the “showering” of love and gifts for the Mommy-to-Be. My Road to Jung: How I Ended Up 10,000 Feet Under the Ground

(ArticlesBase SC #339812)

It turned out that I would have many confirming dreams about training, applying for training, and Jung himself. Early on, however, my road to Jung was paved not by initiatory dreams or visions (at least, I do not recall any), but by a sequence of pivotal events in my life. These events have had for me a feeling of fate about them, as if I had been led or called in a specific direction, one for which I unconsciously yearned. It was as if I had been guided through a dense fog without knowing it at the time–until much later, when I would be able to identify and choose the path more consciously.

As background, I must first say that I was clearly on a spiritual search throughout my college years. Never initiated or grounded in the religious tradition of my parents, Judaism, I was left on my own to explore the answers to the perennial questions about life. Most of my early interests were in Eastern philosophy and practices, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism–or at least the Western versions of them taught by Alan Watts, Ram Dass, Stephen, and others.

At the same time, I was drawn to the study of psychology, and pursued undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field, particularly clinical, or applied, psychology. For a long time, these two interests–spirituality and psychology– ran parallel in my life, rarely touching one another (one exception I recall was a class at Long Beach State University called “Yoga and Psychology”). Generally, I studied psychology in school and spiritual disciplines in my personal life. When I was accepted for doctoral studies in clinical psychology at the University of Arizona, I requested permission to minor in religious studies, but was denied. My advisor matter- of-factly informed me that my area of study, clinical psychology, was already the “softest” specialty in psychology. Religious studies were simply out of the question. He said I needed to pick a “hard” scientific area in which to minor, like statistics or experimental psychology. So I ended up selecting something I could live with, developmental psychology.

Meanwhile, I fell in love with a woman I met at the mental health facility where I worked. Among the things we had in common were strong spiritual and metaphysical penchants. I discovered that she was particularly fond of the writings of Jung, about which I knew nothing. I remember her showing me Man and His Symbols and her prized volumes of Jung’s Collected Works. I also recollect her talking to me about the meaning in dreams. However, I was only superficially interested in what she told me, focusing more on getting through my doctoral studies (which completely excluded Jungian psychology). I looked at her and my dreams with about the same seriousness

that I read the newspaper horoscope (i.e., as a form of play). Jungian psychology was something I was simply not able to grasp at the time.

Probably the biggest turning point came when it was time for me to leave the university campus and complete a year-long clinical internship. I conscientiously sought a position with good financial support and a desirable geographical location (I was interested in living a simple, back-to-the-land lifestyle somewhere in the Pacific Northwest). By an odd sequence of events, right before the deadline for applications an advisor at school suggested I apply to Camarillo State Hospital in California. I looked it up in my internship guidebook and it didn’t sound very inviting. It offered the minimal NIMH stipend, just ,600 for the year! Even worse, it was less than an hour’s drive from my city of birth, Los Angeles, to which I had no desire to return. Not to mention the fact that I had already applied to twelve other locations! “Well,” I thought, “I guess I could apply to Camarillo as a back-up in the unlikely event that all the other applications fall through.” “No one would want to go there!” I figured. “I know I’ll get accepted!”

A month or so later, rejection notices started rolling in and–you guessed it–I ended up being accepted only at my last choice, Camarillo State Hospital! After getting over the shock and disappointment, I resigned myself to my fate, packed up my bags, and headed out west to Camarillo, California. Soon after arriving, I met two psychology interns who told me they’d come from far away across the country. They had chosen Camarillo’s mental hospital as their first choice because of the Jungian analyst on the staff! I believe this was probably the only internship in the country with a Jungian analyst on staff. Well, this piqued my curiosity, to say the least. And the seeds my girlfriend had planted seemed to get a few drops of moisture.

Shortly after I arrived at the hospital, the analyst there, Russ Lockhart, was asked to give a talk to the psychology staff. He showed the film Face to Face and commented briefly on the things Jung discussed in the BBC interview. I don’t recall much of what Russ said, only that I was moved and drawn to it. The other psychologists and interns showed little or no interest, but the two east coast interns and I were hungry for more. We collectively asked Russ to meet with us informally, once a week, over a brown bag lunch, and he agreed. It wasn’t really a seminar, but more a chance to ask Russ questions and discuss various of Jung’s thoughts and ideas. I didn’t understand all of what he said, but what I did grasp made a great deal of sense, much more than what I was being taught elsewhere in the hospital. I just knew, somehow, that it was right. It resonated with something inside me. The seeds were beginning to sprout.

I started reading Jungian books and articles, and began working with an analyst in Los Angeles. At the hospital, Russ instructed our little group in the use of sandtray therapy and supervised my work with an adolescent patient. I remember being touched by how respectful Russ was of the human psyche. He encouraged me to take seriously the utterances of my psychotic patient (she claimed her twin babies had been killed by hospital attendants). He taught me to pay attention to the images and patterns in the unconscious, and to listen to what the soul was saying. Elsewhere in the hospital, I saw patients being medicated, treated behaviorally, and taught how to relax (having drowsy, heavily sedated patients led through relaxation exercises seemed rather bizarre!). But I was most intrigued by Jungian psychology. Still, it wasn’t time to enter training yet. I had other tasks to fulfill first.

I sensed that I needed to begin my psychology career and start earning a living. So I headed out to a mental health center in desolate Rock Springs, Wyoming (why there is another strange twist of fate I will not go into here). Soon, however, I began feeling pretty sterile myself. I was empty and depressed. My life lacked something, but I didn’t know what it was. I was lost and confused professionally, too. I tried my best with my clients, but I had learned so many different therapeutic modalities (my Ph.D. program was eclectic), I really didn’t know quite what to do in any given case. I believed in the Jungian approach philosophically, but wasn’t certain how to apply it in a practical way. I had gone through a fully accredited four-year doctoral program in clinical psychology and yet I still was not aware of how to work meaningfully with my clients. I was experiencing a major identity crisis.

Fortunately, I found my way out of the Wyoming wasteland and out of my own barrenness as well. Attending a conference in Denver on humanistic psychology, I happened to attend a talk by a Jungian analyst, Jeff Raff. Once again, something in me felt nourished, and I knew I needed to get to Denver so I could get back into analysis and study Jung again. At first my way was stymied, but I eventually achieved this goal. Upon reflection, I am impressed with how auspiciously things worked out–how lucky I was to move to Denver for a well-paying job, one that allowed me both the time and money for analysis and training. In fact, all along the way, things curiously seemed to occur just when I needed them to. I got money when I required it most. Likewise, when I needed time to study, it was there. When it was necessary to have analysands for the control stage of training, they appeared. It was a remarkably affirming and sometimes magical process, but not one without setbacks and hardship as well. It was necessary for me to learn to trust the unconscious–and that took many painful lessons.

Before closing, there is one dream that deserves to be mentioned in terms of initiation. It actually came somewhere in the middle of my formal Jungian training, three or so years into it. But it was an initiatory dream all the same. I would say that it initiated me into the deeper level of the process–into the mythic nature of the training in which I was involved. I was starting to question what I was doing in training. I had failed one of my exams and was required to wait a year to take it again. I thought perhaps it was time to stop. After all, I had already earned B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees, and had passed psychology licensing exams in Wyoming and Colorado. Furthermore, my psychology practice was going very well. Hadn’t I jumped through enough hoops? Hadn’t I completed enough school and taken enough exams? Why was I still trying to satisfy the “Father?” Couldn’t I stand on my own authority by now? I stewed and thought about all these things. Then I had the following dream:

I am employed as the assistant to an alchemist. There is a woman helper as well. The alchemist reminds me of Jungian analyst

Arny Mindell (who was my analyst’s analyst, someone I thought of as my spiritual grandfather). I am questioning what we are doing and have decided to pull out. For this, I am considered a heretic.

Then the alchemist comes and talks with me. He says we have performed only part of the opus. There is still one major stage to complete. He tells me that I am the only one who can do it. It involves cooking and transforming the alchemical substance in a

large outdoor oven or container that looks very much like a huge hole dug in the earth. But there is a problem. The surrounding

community considers it dangerous and illegal, fearing the contamination it could cause. The alchemist says he does not know how to solve this problem–that only I can solve it. It is up to me.

I awoke profoundly moved by this dream. My doubts and questions of the days before were entirely gone, and in their place there was a strong conviction that I had to continue with the process of becoming an analyst. I understood from the dream that the training program was not about jumping through hoops to please the “Father” or achieving yet another diploma for my wall. It was a deep (literally, in the ground!) mythic process of transformation. It was not even for me, really, but for the sake of the alchemical materia–which I imagined to be the still unrealized Self. Yet it was only I who could complete the task. Unquestionably, the training process of becoming a Jungian analyst carried new meaning and depth for me.

Finally, the image of the underground alchemical furnace reminds me that one of the first dreams I can recall–long before my interest in Jung emerged–was that I was pulling up carrots out of the ground. They had big leafy tops above the earth, but scrawny roots underneath. Remarkably, one of the last dreams I had before graduating Jungian training was that the process of analysis had taken me deep into my interior; in fact, the image in the dream was that I was literally 10,000 feet under the ground! I had at last found the depth and grounding for which I had been searching.

Dreams: “e-mail From the Soul”

One of the great breakthrough discoveries of modern times was Freud’s discovery of the unconscious mind and the idea that much of what drives us is outside our awareness. He considered dreams to be “the royal road to the unconscious.” Unlike Freud, his colleague, C.G. Jung, thought the unconscious was far greater in scope and possibility.

Chapter 1

Barcelona, Saturday 31st of July 2004

“My ears always go funny on board,” Helena told Enrique, settling in her seat in the private jet again. She had just had a shower with him in the small bathroom. “My first flight was somewhat illegal. It was in an RAF plane and I was scared stiff. Then Grandpa, an RAF commander, told me to hold my nose and gulp. Always works especially at takeoff.”

“I prefer the sweets.” He leaned back on his seat, eyes closed and hands cradling the back of his head. Unlike her he had not got back into his clothes. A towel was wrapped around his hips.

She was so excited about the coming prospects. She was going to meet her future family. She had just left her lifelong family in Cyprus, worried. They were not as confident in her relationship with Enrique as she herself was. She had just been made love to in the air – a first for her. He was the love of her life, she was convinced. They had known each other for over two months. And she would tell him all about her before this night was over. The secret wedged between them was an imperfection that had to be removed by surgical words. This was the only unpleasant prospect for her to deal with tonight when they finally arrived in Barcelona. Tomorrow would be too late. Be honest with him, darling, before you meet his family, Mummy had  said – for the umpteenth time.

Helena watched Paphos diminish in the widening blue mouth of the Mediterranean Sea. Cyprus the golden, like an autumn leaf tossed onto the sea by a careless Divinity, rocking on a glittering endless blue hammock.

Earlier today in Limassol, she had called Ramón and asked him to meet them at the airport but Ramón had rejected her request. She couldn’t blame him. There was only so much selflessness a man could afford. Still, if Ramón had met them, she had planned to tell him her story first and ask him how he thought Enrique would react to it. It was ever so easy to talk to Ramón about anything and everything. Almost easier than talking to Uncle Alex who, before Ramón, was her number one tell-all, let-me-hear-the-dirt confidante. On the other hand something about Enrique made her want to really be nothing other than perfect, his Star of Cyprus. No warts on the cheeks, no growths in the heart. She shared in his idolized “sexiest star advocate in the international business community” image, and revelled in having bulbs flashing and cameras whirring wherever and whenever they were part of the public life, as he called it. Helenrique! Helenrique! Whoever had coined that, Enrique or the media? But her new world was all so intoxicating. On the screen Enrique became so present, so crackling with energy, the perpetually stray black strand of hair hugging his eyebrow, his forget-me-not blue eyes so intense – everything about him so three dimensional that he almost blasted into the room through the screen.

“A penny for your thoughts, Corazón?”

“Enrique.” She blushed furiously, taking her eyes away from the porthole and her thoughts. She felt as if Enrique had caught her thinking about Ramón through an aria in the Mathew Passion. “Are you sure you should be walking around like that?” He still had only the towel around his hips.

“Nobody’s complaining but you. Awhile ago you didn’t mind me naked with you all over me. Does the towel make me more naked?”

“You’re impossible. But anybody could walk in now, perhaps. The crew and your media people, I mean. When will we be in Barcelona?”

When they boarded the jet, she had not known that the media people were waiting inside to welcome them. She quickly got over the surprise and found herself wishing that Mummy and Daddy  would know about the media. Just to demonstrate to them how much he cared for her, how much he was proud of her, wanted to show her to the world. She could handle the media by now and Enrique said she was such a natural any day anywhere with the paparazzi. But her parents had not gone farther than the VIP lounge at Paphos International Airport.

“Eight, eight-thirty. Don’t mind supper on board, d’you?”

She shook her head. “More reason you should put something on.”

“The crew may burst in here after a discreet knock or throat-clearing. The media – never, unless invited to, okay?” She nodded. “Beautiful.” He placed a hand on her bare shoulder. “You’re so beautiful, Helena. After next week, let’s just lock ourselves up somewhere and never come out till the holidays are over.”

She remembered the Saturday afternoon in May, when he burst into her scene with Ramón like a sudden whirlwind, standing between them and squeezing a male and a female shoulder in each hand. That moment when two opposing forces battled in her, making her knees threaten to buckle under her. She was wearing this same flimsy white cotton dress with the tight bodice, spaghetti straps and knee-length skirt gathered at the waist for the petticoat look, and the belt cinching in her waist. Enrique was always a solid gale when he entered a room or even a hall.

“A great idea, darling. Filise me…” she added in Greek, tugging at the towel.

Three hours later, they were under the shower again, this time in a bathroom that was large enough to be an executive office. The whole duplex apartment made her too enthralled to find the right words for it. When they came in she had simply let him take her hand, like a trusting child, and show her the rooms and the several remote control and safety gadgets. Even in the shower where they were now, all one had to do was to press buttons for “shower”, “temperature” and “start”. She personally thought it all a bit too much, unless one was an invalid or something, but she enjoyed the pleasures he enjoyed, was proud of the same things he took pride in.

They trailed from the bathroom past the dressing room, wrapped in heated towels, into the huge bedroom dominated by an enormous bed. He lowered her onto the bed and then touched switches and there were soft lights and music and an electric fireplace – simply a visual effect in summer. There was a bottle of chilled champagne in a bucket and two crystal goblets. He poured the champagne and they drank it from each other’s mouths. He poured some on her navel and sucked on it, making her tingle.

“I have to learn Spanish,” she murmured. “The music sounds so erotic, but the words!”

“I’ll translate…sort…of… in…between…Corazón…”

It was much, much later, taking another short break, sipping champagne and listening to endless music from some invisible central source, that she felt relaxed and confident enough to tell him. She had gone over the HOW many times in her mind and had long decided that the best way to do it was the way Mummy had told it to her. From the beginning. From when Daddy had confessed to Mummy, and the two ended up sharing “our secret” and are still happy and in love with each other, despite the secret.

“Darling…” she raised her shoulders off the bed and looked at him in the eyes. With the soft lighting, his eyes were ink blue and glistening in their deep sockets.

“Corazón…?”

“There’s a family story I have to tell you. I want you to know it before we meet your family tomorrow and…”

“Today, beautiful. It’s already past midnight.” He put an arm around her and pulled her closer to him, punching the pillows on the headboard for comfort. “What is it, then?”

Her heartbeats accelerated. She drained her glass and placed it on the night table next to the bucket with the champagne bottle. She was shaking badly.

“Corazón?”

She pushed her loose hair to one side of her using both hands. “I’m all right. But, err, … oh God…! It’s about Daddy. About me and Daddy…”

“What?”

“Please don’t interrupt me or my courage will fail me, Enrique,” she said with renewed determination.

Then she told him. Everything from the days in Timberlake Priory in Yorkshire to moving over to Cyprus. She quickly ploughed on and on and on, leaving nothing out. She didn’t look at him anymore. But she felt his reactions as she told him the story. His arm slid away from under her. His body continuously inched away from her. Was it shock? Was it empathy? Was it pity? Or did he feel disgust?

She didn’t look at him until the end of her story. Then she did.

He had jumped out of bed and was pacing up and down making strange noises. He came back to her and stood close, a little bent from the waist. On her side of the bed. At first it was shock that she saw etched in his handsome features. His mouth kept opening and closing before whatever he wanted to say could be said. But slowly, disgust replaced the shock. He said perdón rapidly several times, giving the word no time to breath between the repetitions, the word an ugly protrusion prodding his tongue and consciousness. Then the rest of the words thundered out of him.

He screamed them at her. She had never seen him so sentient.

She closed her eyes in order not to see his face, so contorted with disgust at her.
He kept on screaming at her. As if it was all her fault. As if she had had any say, any choice in the whole thing. As if she had happily rolled herself around in the mud like a baby elephant.

She curled up and hoped to disappear from the face of the earth, too hurt to even cry.

“Wait a minute;” he said and walked to one of his gadgets and flicked the light on from soft to a stark white to illuminate her better. Her golden skin refused to own up, remaining innocent, perfect and beautiful. As innocent as an infant’s. Untouched by anything but a mother’s loving hands. He pulled the sheets off her. She made herself into a ball and the humiliation began to set in. What did he expect to discover, that she grew horns at night or turned into a vampire? She began to tremble like a leaf and did her best not to sob. She endeavoured to marshal her whirling thoughts and senses, willing herself to remain as calm as she could.

But his words crashed inside her head over and over again. Sliced her flesh into strips. Plunged deep in her vital organs like a dagger handled by powerful hands. Over and over again. Nasty and cheap words she never expected from him. They broke her bones to splinters, dismembered her. She began to sob relentlessly. She sobbed even harder thinking about her father.

Enrique’s mind spun out of its natural revolutions. His disgust acquired other tinges. For himself, being the self-centred trailblazer that he was. Deep black tinges. An abyss. Losses instead of gains in prestige. The media, all these several weeks. How was he going to undo all that? And how was he going to explain all this to the family? Well, the family will understand. That he nearly made her his wife! The mother of his children, for God’s sake!

His rage and vexation soared and roared to an inferno, like a building on fire whose windows shatter to let in the oxygen. He turned to her. On her.

“You bitch! How could you have done this to me, huh?”

If she had told him the truth from the very beginning, everything would have been slotted in their correct compartments. He would have enjoyed being with her, sleeping with her, buying her expensive presents. But not going so far as to get engaged with a…

“All right, Helena. Now we can fuck.” The voice solid like reinforced concrete.

She saw the madness in his eyes, began crying in pleas. She was no longer on a silk-gilded bed with a man who could take her to heaven and back. This was the beast her father had warned her against, not the noble savage of her fantasies with Mummy. But even Mummy had warned her against this particular beast, that she might find herself out on a limb with Enrique. Her mind was running marathons but in a circle. The pain, the fear, the disgust and revulsion as he tried to pin her down. He pried her thighs apart with his strong legs as his hands pinned her wrists to the headboard. She screamed and fought him.

“Shut up! You’ll love it rough, won’t you?”

He was too strong for her but still she combined pleas with fighting back. “Enrique, please! I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before… I was scared of your… Please don’t do this to me! Don’t…! It’s still me, Enrique, your Star of Cyp…!”

They had been making love for half the day and night. He penetrated her painfully but effortlessly. Only her wild struggles disconnected them, throwing him off before he would thrust into her anew. He decided to do something in order to achieve his intentions. He released her right hand in order to use his own hand to guide himself into her and hold her pressed to him.

It was her chance.

She used her released hand to whip the champagne bottle out, knocking the bucket almost noiselessly to the fluffy floor. He was so busy in his mad endeavours that he didn’t notice her grab the bottle. She raised it in the air and brought it down, with all her might, on the side of his head. The bottle broke, shooting off a stream of champagne. A noise caught in his throat and he slumped. She pushed him off her and made for the dressing room. But he was so still that she stopped to look at him. He lay lifeless across the bed.

“Enrique?” What to do… what to do… what…to…do? Was he dead? The police…

Too many things bowling around her head. “Enrique?”

She rushed back to him, holding the top half of the broken bottle as a weapon. She tilted her rumbling head to one side like an intelligent dog. Enrique said nothing and the room was full of it. Before she could think she prodded him with the broken bottle on his naked side. He remained still. His head was lying in a pool of blood, the pool widening. More fresh blood welled out from his side.  She stiffened.

Think! Call an ambulance! The mobile! Where’s the mobile…my handbag…the dressing…no – the bathroom!

She ran into the office-sized bathroom and found her bag on a dressing table. With one hand she opened it and shook the contents out as she ran back to the bedroom. The mobile thudded to the floor in the dressing room and she picked it up, dropping the handbag. She had only one free hand. The hand with her weapon, she poised ready for any eventualities. Her head was spinning and droning. She reached the bedroom.

Enrique was gone.

God almighty, he’s not dead! He had moved! Where to? “Enrique?”

There was a weak groan from the other side of the bed, then bloodied fingers clawed on the bed sheets. The dark half dome of his head matted with blood, glistening as it caught the light, appeared. She screamed involuntarily before worrying about her safety.

He’s dangerous! Call the police! Bring yourself to safety! Explain to the police! You didn’t mean to kill him! Bring yourself to safety and call the police!

“BUT HOW!” she screamed out aloud. “HELP! HELP! HELP ME!”

His shoulders appeared from the opposite side of the bed.

THINK!

“You b-b-bi—tch!”

The gadgets. What had he said, showing off his gadgets to her?  When you don’t want the servants to surprise you in the bedroom, dressing room or bathroom, this button makes it impossible for anyone to come in from the outside…

The bathroom!

He was clawing halfway across the huge bed towards her. She bolted to the bathroom, locking the dressing room. Oh shit! Simply a sliding glass screen between the bedroom and the dressing room. No lockable door. Oh God! She had dropped the remote control and bent to recover it, mobile phone in the same hand. Through the glass door to the bedroom she saw him still creeping across the bloodied bed sheets towards the dressing room, calling her dreadful names. She bolted out of the dressing room, collecting her dropped things and the half empty handbag. She ran into the bathroom and, feverishly reading and deciding on the codes on the display, she bolted all the doors leading to the bathroom, grateful for the English language. Stop. Start. On. Off. Lock. Unlock. She heard him pounding on the dressing room door to the bathroom. What if there was another reserve gadget? She wanted to cry but told herself she had to think. She had put herself in this situation. She had to get herself out of it.

The police. He wasn’t dead after all. They would understand a foreign girl panicking. She had acted in self defence. But how did one dial the Spanish police…?

Enrique was getting louder both in voice and the pounding. Was he nearer? Outside the bathroom door perhaps? Which one of the doors? How long before he worked that or any other door open? Flinching with each pounding outside, she punched the speed-dial for Mummy. Then she remembered she was in Spain and it was in the middle of the night anyway. Her mother and father would more likely die of a heart attack than arrive in time to rescue her. Uncle Alex! Maybe he knew at least the Spanish police or fire brigade number. But what time was it in Tokyo? Was he on stage? Tokyo code?

“You fucking bitch, open the door! Open up…!”

For a moment she broke down crying. That was Enrique out there calling her names. She had loved him. He had loved her. What happened to it all? She wept bitterly but the banging and abuses and insults propped up her mental spine. She had NOT loved him, she had loved a fake. Just as he had never loved her, Helena. He had loved his own dreams.

“I’ll kill you if you don’t open this door at once!”

He couldn’t get in. That threat says he can’t get in!

She felt much better. Her head cleared. Well, fuck you too mate. She rummaged in the cupboards. A boiler? Anything where some kind of telephone number was written even if it belonged to a plumber or the electricity company. But everything was high tech to a fault. It was like being in a luxury clinical ward of a spaceship.

And then his name hit her memory with a force that made her stop searching and sit on the floor in her nakedness. Her hands were shaking as she punched his speed-dial. Her tears began to flow again – with relief. The number started ringing.

The banging and insults outside the bathroom door jarred her nerves.

Please, Ramón! Have the phone on! Wake up! I need you desperately!

Oh God, he was a Ruíz de Alarcón too! Would he want to have anything to do with her after this? After knowing? In panic, she disconnected the number. Her fear mingled with a sudden sense of doom. Both hovered above her like a dark starless sky about to drop and squash her on her last leg to hell. But the banging from the door was getting incessant.

“I need the fucking first aid kit, you bitch!”

Dear God. Her brain was doing everything to detach itself from her body and she had to summon something to assist her in not reinforcing such a situation. She crept as far away from the doors as possible and crouched in a corner, bitterly sobbing. Twenty-two years, a first lover eleven years older, out in a foreign country, and now this.

But maybe Enrique was bleeding to death! For him Ramón would come. And if he came for his cousin she would also get out of here. She punched Ramón’s speed-dial again and was determined to wait. If it was the mailbox, she was ready to leave a mess…

“Mi vida? Is anything wrong?”

And all else broke in her anew, slithering into her like the moment of birth but in reverse. Between bitter sobs she managed, “Ramón, please come and help me…Please come and help me, Ramón… Enrique…hates me… Help me…or send…the police…to…help me…Ramón… Please…please…Ramón…help…me…”

On the other end of the line, Ramón shook himself wide awake. He could hear her desperation. “Helena? Please calm down, mi amor…what’s…?”

“Send me….some…help…Ramón…”

“Hey, calm down. I’m on my way. Tell me what happened, Helena.” He was already frantically stepping into his clothes. What on earth has Enrique done? “Helena?”

“Help me…please…Ramón…I’ll never…ask you…for anything…again…”

“Why should I send the police?” Then he heard the banging and gabbled voice in the background. Jesus! What was going on?

His words sent her into fresh paroxysms. “Please, Ramón…get…me…out of…here…!” Dear God, please make him come to me. Or send the police.

“Helena, don’t disconnect the line, okay? Where’s Enrique? Are you hurt ?”

“Outside the door…I’m…in the…bath…roooom…!”

“Okay, I’ll be there in a moment, mi vida. Stay where you are and don’t disconnect.”

Relieved and much stronger inside, she curled up on the floor under the sink, her mobile pressed to her ears, listening to his soothing words until they were more like a lulling mantra repeated again and again. Her mind drifted back to the day she had first met the cousins and made the biggest mistake in her life.

Reel of Real

Everybody conciously or unconciously acts in life. Based on reel life,we use to play the reallife. Infact, what we see in reel is real itself but in somewhat hyperbolic mood and structure. It really reveals and infact bringout good or bad character as better or worse.Literature is no more behind to sketch the very life of a common to the uncommon. We enjoy the best and face the worst through the variety of stages in our journey of the life.Reel reflects or literature explains with refined taste.

The untapped mineral wealth of DRCongo is equivalent to the GDP of Europe and the USA combined. It is estimated at US trillion, which would make DRCongo the richest nation in the world. Re-Colonization Of Africa Through Buying Agricultural Land: Wealthy Nations And Their Multinationals On The Rampage

The latest trend for rich countries is grabbing agricultural land from poor countries on a 99- or 999-year-lease. The Gulf nations, for example, are rich but can’t grow grains on their oil-rich sands to feed their citizens. Neither can China and India feed the billions of their population. After the financial crisis in mortgage-based derivatives, agricultural land is the new strategic asset. An asset that nobody can manufacture or erect, and then sell. Once given away, it is gone.

Memphis Blues music first appeared in the 1920s in Memphis, and Memphis ever since has been a Mecca for Blues music lovers worldwide. Beale Street, the heart of Memphis music scene, is home to everything from jug bands to jazz.

The sub genre of Memphis Blues music that is Jug Band Blues emphasizes syncopated rhythms and sounds of early jazz and folk songs. Jug bands play on homemade, simple instruments, such as harmonicas, banjos, washboards, and kazoos, and of course, jugs.

After WWII, Memphis Blues music saw the birth of electric instruments. Many musicians flocked to Memphis to the Blues scene with these electric instruments, changing the sound of Memphis blues. The musicians would gather on Beale Street, where there were recording studios up and down. West Memphis saw the same influx of musicians, who would record the most famous and renowned classic blues, rhythm and blues, and rock & roll records. Once of the most famous of these studios was Sun Records, who would also record the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley, among many others.

The beginning of Memphis self expressive music was attributed by a certain sound that became familiar to the colored workers of the cornfields, the sharecroppers. Much of the early Memphis blues music was an attempt to capture the sound of the singing workers. This sound at first was nicknamed the gutbucket blues. Some of the more popular topics of the songs were those of prayer, faith, and life.

Even today on Beale Street, songs are written and recorded in the small studios by artists with their dreams in tow. The streets in Memphis are just as alive today with the Memphis Blues as they were in the 40s and 50s. The clubs and bars in Memphis fill up every night with tourists and people who sit for hours listening to the artists and their music, much the same way they always have.

With all of the new and ever changing genres of music that have come about, people may wonder what gives the Memphis Blues music such staying power. The answer is simple. The Memphis Blues remains such a huge part of tradition in Memphis because it is more than just music. It is an entire culture and lifestyle that gets passed from one generation to the next.

Ever since the Memphis Blues music was born on the curbs of Beale Street, people have been flocking to Memphis to enjoy it ever since. Chances are pretty good that it will continue to be enjoyed and loved for many more generations to come.

It’s been 28 years now and I think I’m finally starting to get it. I think I’ve finally found my place in life and everything is starting to come into focus. I certainly wouldn’t call it an epiphany because the realization hasn’t been sudden. In fact I’d be a fool to suggest my beliefs are complete as is. After all, one of my finest enlightenments is the realization that my way of thinking and my values are never set in stone and will always be expandable and ever-growing.

As much as I have tried not to regret anything in the past, I’ve got to openly admit that at this point in my life I think avoidance of regret is a complete waste of time. Acceptance of my wrong doings and faults has been a true blessing. Of course, I wish I’d done things differently along the way. Actually, there have been a lot of things I’ve done most people would consider mistakes. I’ve even been called a loser and a failure. Obviously I never permanently accepted or bought into those accusations and misrepresentations of myself but there was a time when I questioned my undoubtedly obscure decision making. To finally conclude that it is absolutely impossible to change the past has been an enormously liberating understanding. My mistakes can only be used as a learning experience. I don’t have any reason to think otherwise. If it weren’t for my so called shortcomings in the past I’d never be who I am today and that would be the only thing regrettable.

So what am I today? I consider myself at peace. I am at peace with who I am and at peace with my place within the universe. As a younger man I always tried to conform to the others around me. I felt I had to do what everyone else did and think like everyone else thought in order to fit in. Even more amazing was that I thought rebellion would lead to failure. Socializing with figures of beauty, power and excellence would certainly be a reflection of my being. An influential job title, stunning home and gorgeous wife were necessities in order to be considered successful. What I failed to recognize is that I had yet to define success. As far as I see it, success is entirely customizable. What an astonishing variable life has presented us!

Since the true definition of success for one’s self is only definable by one’s self it’s surely reasonable to conclude everyone is entitled to success. In reality there’s no way anyone can prevent you from being successful besides yourself. My definition of success is to love my family, treat others as family, accept my role on this earth, be true to myself, never stop learning, and roll with the twist and turns life presents me. Today I have no other perception than one of a prosperous young man.

The real gift in all this is the appreciation I have for life. I know these beliefs have been formed over my lifetime but it’s clear to me that the last eight years have been the most constructive so far. There’s something about becoming responsible for another life that puts your own into perspective. I have been fortunate enough to experience this with the birth of my son Devin. I think the first time I laid eyes on him I instantly changed forever. I can’t clearly define the sensation I feel when I think of him or hold him but there’s no doubt something about him is heavenly. Maybe wanting to be able to define who I am was a direct result of the need to guide my son in the ways that will define who he becomes.

Upon forming the notion that I needed to shape my future, I became intensely involved with meditation and relaxation. Clearing the mind of all stress, tension and frustration and replacing it with cleansing, peaceful visualization is the greatest relief imaginable. When I first began my meditation it was difficult to concentrate on the visualizations because of all the tension I experienced throughout the day. I simply was not used to peace and quiet! Over time and after gradual success I’ve become very skilled in the art and today consider myself very proficient. When I first began meditation I used audio recordings to guide me through the process. Everything around me had to be quiet and comfortable. However, I am currently able to do everything on my own and in any situation. I’ve become so accustom to total concentration and complete calm that nothing can divert my focus. As a beginner the easiest situation for me to imagine happened to be an outdoor landscape. I’ve always found nature to be truly remarkable and in particular the beauty of the forest and the sounds of a stream. Thus, I imagined myself in that environment. I also incorporated my son into the visualization since if there’s anyone that can make me forget about all my worries, it’s him. My exact experience would seem to follow something similar to this:

Devin and I enter a thick forest full of hardwoods and pines. It’s early fall so the leaves have begun to change from greens to red, oranges, and yellows. This day happens to be a bit warm however there’s a nice subtle breeze; just enough to sway the leaves and lift a few strands of hair up off my face. As we enter the forest I hold onto Devin’s small hand to guide him down the path. We’ve got our attention fixed upon an unmistakable clearing ahead. The sound of trickling water is getting more defined. As we near the opening we notice a glorious stream flowing through the forest. The sun over head and no longer obscured by the large surrounding trees, beats down through the water providing a crystal clear view of the rocks below. I look over at Devin smiling back at me. His excitement is undeniable. We take our shoes off dip a toe into the water. It’s rather cool but also soothing. Unable to resist the temptation of the stream’s magnificence, we enter step by step until our feet are completely submerged. Here we stall and take in all our surroundings using all our senses to memorize this very moment.

It was easy to begin with this visualization because it was so simple to relate the surroundings to a feeling of relaxation. If looked at through the eyes of the overwhelmed, nature is a basic as can be. After all the imagined experiences began to put my outlook on life back into perspective, I decided to begin to live the understanding not only in a tangible, physical manner but also in an inner spiritual approach. I have actually lived my visualizations. I’ve walked in the forests, sat on the mountain tops, and swam in the lakes I’ve dreamt about. I’ve felt the feelings of complete relaxation and of complete exuberance. To be with nature and know that all that surrounds me has become over millions of years, eras, and generations is not only humbling but also gratifying. Many of the locations have been claimed, bought and sold but never have they been owned. The forest may have been burned down or blown to the ground yet nature is resilient and everlasting. We can also continue to overcome our mishaps and tragedy, our loses and misfortunes if we don’t fight nature and natural occurrence. I am of the belief that our environment doesn’t surround us but rather would be incomplete without us.

According to my understanding so far a contented life can only be achieved after realization and implementation of a simple natural life. Of course, like all things in life, it’s individualized. I acknowledge the fact that some people who read this will think it’s ridiculous and some will snare. Some people will find it helpful, some will thank me for this insight and hopefully some people will reevaluate their role with others and their responsibility to the environment. If nothing else, may your years be peaceful, long-lasting and fruitful.
